Ice Ripples

The following are two pictures of a very linear and uniform ice ripples. The observer and photographer is Sue Thomas.

The extent of the ripples is over 100 ft.

This looks like it is a feature similar to slush balls that form at the edge of open water.

Slush balls are not as uniform in size and shape.

One possible contributing factor is snow-fall slush that forms when snow falls directly into water.   It can create repetitive patterns in the ice in some circumstances.
